Dr. Tashiana has a BA in Sociology with a minor in Africana Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a MS in Higher Education from California State University, Fullerton. In 2019, she completed her Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership at California State University, Long Beach, where she researched the persistence and experience of Black women in STEM majors from an anti-deficit and Black Feminist perspective.

biochemical and biophysical techniques. Since joining UCR as a faculty member, her focus has pivoted to biochemical pedagogy, primarily learning and retaining difficult biochemical concepts. Her former students have contributed to the research by creating course material that has now been incorporated into her classes, hence having students participate directly in curriculum development in biochemistry.

Dr. Crawford is a postdoctoral researcher in biomedical sciences
at the UCR School of Medicine. She has received a University of California President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2023–2024 academic year. received her doctoral degree in biology with a
focus in physiology at Arizona State University in 2019. As a doctoral student, she was awarded the National Science Foundation-Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship in 2014. She has been a postdoctoral researcher in the UCR Division of Biomedical Sciences since February 2020.

Hollis is an Associate Professor of Entomology at the
University of Riverside and PI of the US National native
bee monitoring research coordination network. She
received a Ph.D. in Biology in 2012 from the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. Where she worked with Dr. Gene
Robinson.

Dr. Andersen started her career as a Research and
Teaching Assistant at Coastal Marine Biolabs. Megan also worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a Scientist aboard the 2012 NMFS Aleutian Islands Bottom Trawl Survey. She then joined
UC Santa Barbara, where they served as a Graduate Researcher, focusing on stem cell biology. Most recently, Megan has taken on roles at MedLab2020 as the Scientific Director and Research and Development Manager.
